Stainless Steel Rebar Cap Survey Marker

Stamped text

Made from 304 stainless

designed to fit 1/2" and 5/8" rebar

* These are not safety caps and are for identification purposes only*

our patented locking tabs will either lock onto the rebar or be very difficult to remove depending on the rebar.

unlike aluminum or plastic stainless will not give easily when being placed onto the rebar. consider using a rebar driver or cut the rebar off after pounding into the ground, so the rebar is not mushroomed allowing the cap to be easily installed.

1 1/2" disc is welded to the top of the cap. We recently introduced our new laser weld that does a complete 360 deg weld around the base of the cap. This provides an extemly strong weld that does not use any filler materials.

Updated pictures are coming soon but for now you can find picture of this weld on the LADOTD marker pack page.

Patented US8973323B1 , US8973323B1

    Wanted to LIke Them

Posted by Danica Ryan on Jul 27th 2023

We ordered the wrong size rebar the first time. That was our fault. Got the correct ones and every time the field crew tries to put them onto the rebar the top pops off of them. They're pretty much unusable. *from Bathey: we appreciate the feedback, this helps us improve. We have changed our weld to a 360 deg laser weld which is much better then our old weld.*

    Revamped cap is great

We too ordered 5/8" rebar caps which popped off if pounded to hard. We returned them and asked Bathey to "double weld" the caps which they did and the caps have worked flawlessly since. That double weld method also gave us a center point to the cap. This is our fourth order of caps far superior to plastic.

    Weak Weld

Posted by Richard Roberts on Jul 27th 2023

We work in coastal Oregon and require a cap that can hold up to the salt environment. About 2 years ago I ordered a sample of the 7/8”laser cut and 1 1/2” stamped caps. Both have held up nicely. We just ordered 200 stamped 1 1/2” caps. The 1 1/2” disk is spotwelded to the 7/8” shaft. The spot weld broke on the first 2 caps that I tapped onto a rebar. And I literally mean “tapped”…. Very gently. I was shocked and had to epoxy the 1 1/2” disk to the 7/8” shaft portion with JB weld. Hopefully those were the only 2 in the batch. Seems like the spot weld was too weak and didn’t burn the two pieces together. Other than that I love the look.

Seem nice, but need a center punch

The caps seem to work and look nice, but they need a center punch (very slippery). Durability?... only time will tell.
